Growing @ The Woo/Classes
Here at The Woo, we believe that the best way to get the most out of your experience with us is to get connected through various groups, classes, and other opportunities.
We strongly believe that each attendee is meant to be a player, not just a spectator. Our core classes have been designed with just that in mind: to get you involved in doing the vision we feel called to as a church. These core classes balance vision, scriptural study and practical application. We hope the classes will help you to fulfill your dreams in God.
We suggest that you start with the class, "Growing @ The Woo". In this one-afternoon class, you'll learn about our vision for our church, how we came to be what we are today, and our understanding of what God is doing in the world. You'll also learn how you can get the most from your experience with us and the nature of membership here, as well as have the opportunity to consider joining. Lunch is provided and childcare is available for those sign up. There's a sign up form for this class below.
After that, we recommend that you attend one of retreats, groups, or personal meeting that we offer on the topic of what is called "Inner Healing". We offer these because it seems common that our past affects us in many ways, known and unknown--all too often negatively. In our "Inner Healing" offerings, we tap into God's power to free you from the hurts and hindrances of the past, and to propel you into a newly joyful future.
Next is our popular class called, "Essentials to Thriving in Faith", where we explore the surprising recommendations, or "spiritual disciplines", the Bible suggests for how to connect with God and how to make your life more satisfying than you would imagine. A metaphor of how spiritual disciplines work is this clip from the classic American movie, "Karate Kid". Warning, some expletives.
After this, you are welcome to attend our yearly "Find Your Calling" retreat (designed to help you discover what you are uniquely made for) and then one of our leadership training classes.
